GRIMEY NEWS
Roll Deep will be mixing it up on Xfm this Saturday, 01.00 – 03.00 on James Hyman’s The Rinse show. Expect massive club bangers lifted from their Grimey album and some upfront exclusives from the Roll Deep Entourage.
In April look out for a headline UK tour stopping off in London, Brighton, Oxford, Cambridge, Bristol, Liverpool, Manachester, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ipswich and Norwich.
Roll Deep, the biggest crew “on road” that gave birth to Dizzee Rascal and Wiley, take a moment to step up to the pulpit to present the masses with a pastiche of the Grime scene from its bass-heavy garage beginnings, to the burgeoning, multifaceted, status quo.
Roll Deep present “Grimey” an audio and visual road-map that starts off with the infamous and instrumental So Solid, stops at every landmark and place of interest before arriving at the spaghetti junction of today’s scene.
The mix CD & DVD compiled by the 14 man crew and mixed down by the crew’s DJ’s, Karnage and Maximumm, Roll Deep pay homage to those that laid the foundations to the scene labelled “Grime”, back when it’s only outlets were Sun City, Garage Nation and pirate radio stations. So Solid Crew, Mercury Award Winner, Miss Dynamite and Social Circles’ premier producer on the garage boards, Sticky, Wiley and Dizzee all get the nod from the Wu Tang of the Grime scene.
Grimey is the CD equivalent to a testimonial football match. Taking a moment out to reflect on all of Grimes achievements thus far and giving something back to all the fans that have ever shown their face at FWD, tuned into Rinse FM or shown love on Myspace.com. 2005 has been a great year for Grime and Roll Deep, who knows what’s in store for 2006? Whatever it may be, you can be sure that DMC and Grimey will be there to document the cream of the new age urban punk movement – Watch this space.
Artists included in the mix; Roll Deep, Wiley, Dizzee Rascal, Kano, Ms Dynamite, More Fire Crew, So Solid Crew, Maxwell D and more…
Limited Edition Bonus DVD includes videos from Wiley, Dizzee Rascal, Tinchy Strider and Ms Dynamite plus Roll Deep commentary on the mix and vids with exclusive Road Tapes taken while on tour over the past year.

GRIMEY REVIEWS
Virus Syndicate 'THE WORK RELATED ILLNESS' (PLANET MU)
Straight Outta Gunchester, crazy mother fuckers named Virus. You wouldn’t want to meet these Bad Bwois in a dark alleyway… or a light one for that fact! The bars are as Gangster as anything the US has to offer and have a core of realness that very few MCs can achieved, without sounding like they’re writing rhymes for a movie script. ‘Major List MCs’ does exactly what it says on da can dem beans. Featuring Fallacy, Trim, Ears and Jammer, anything with Trim on is ganna be good and this track sets the level for the album. Virus Syndicate unleashed their Manc Grime Monster on the UK last year, this new edition adds more bombs to their already rammed arsenal. Spitting slinging Kees, ripping ‘G’s and ditchin’ bitches underpins the content of the album with M.R.K.1 on square pushing detail, delivering some of the most forward productions to come from the scene (you can’t argue with the Reflex stamp of approval now can you). JSD, Goldfinger, Nika D & M.R.K.1 are coming to spread the virus and with the second best Grime album in the world ever… there’s nothing you can do to stop them!
